Mid term event at EUPVSEC

16 September 2015 - EU PVSEC, Hamburg, Germany

Europe’s Research and Development efforts in support of its PV industry

Cheetah project which focuses on cost-reduction through material optimization and high energy output of solar photovoltaic modules hosted its first public event at this year’s EU PVSEC in Hamburg. On Wednesday 16th September 2015 more than 70 researchers, academics, industry and other relevant stakeholders participated to the event where first results and ongoing work were presented.
The consortium of Cheetah had the chance to disseminate and discuss with external experts on the objectives of the project, its goals, the current outcomes as well as the future steps and challenges. The participants interacted effectively for around four hours, asking questions, discussing bilateral with the relevant cheetah experts and moreover exchanging during the thematic table discussion where key questions were addressed and outcomes were fed into the industry panel discussion that followed.
Ideas on how to valorize better the results of such EU innovations and how to effectively exploit and implement the results of the benefit of our European Industry were discussed. Careful selection of strategic research innovations that can make a difference in terms of competition, identifying the unique value proposition and application of each technology and innovation in order to accelerate the market uptake were a few points that raised and discussed by the expert participants.
Cheetah project has gone only halfway towards the end of it and its work will continue until end of 2017.
